How did you get started doing this type of work?

As a child I was involved in Royal Ambassadors at church and when I first participated in the pinewood derby, where we designed and cut our own car from a block of wood, I was hooked to working with wood. I then began going to workshops and continued smaller projects and eventually built my first house by the age of 22. - Rich Guillory, Owner

Describe a recent project you are fond of and how long did it take?

A recent home remodeling project I really enjoyed was constructing a custom built-in L-shaped banquet with table. The banquet was built as an extension of the kitchen cabinets, so the base color was matched to the cabinets and hinged top was stained. The same stain was utilized on the table to create a contiguous dining area. Off-site work totaled 5 days and installation took 2 half days.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Each project is unique, but at RPG, we like to spend time visiting with the customer to determine their needs/requirements. Depending on the scale of the project, we then visit the worksite to determine equipment, tool and material requirements. Then we produce a formal estimate with schedule and timing. Upon acceptance, the project is scheduled. Once complete, a walk through is performed to ensure customer satisfaction and the final invoice is generated.

Many times customers don't think to ask the professional if the project is something they WANT to do. This is an important question, because your professional should always show up on time, with a smile and perform the work as if it were on their property.
